The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions solely to provide its functionality.

activeTab

Allows the Extension to interact only with the webpage that you have chosen by clicking the Extension.

This permission is used to:

  • Apply Reading Mode

  • Change text size

  • Enable Auto Scroll

  • Scroll back to the top

  • Reset the webpage

The Extension only accesses the active tab after you initiate an action.

scripting

Allows the Extension to execute scripts on the active webpage after user interaction.

Scripts are used only to:

  • Adjust page styling

  • Improve readability

  • Modify font sizes

  • Control automatic scrolling

  • Restore the page when requested

No webpage data is transmitted outside your browser.

Host Permissions

The Extension requests access to HTTP and HTTPS webpages so that its features can operate consistently across websites that you choose to use it on.

The Extension does not automatically modify webpages.

Changes occur only after the user activates the Extension.

4. Data Storage

The current version of Reading Mode & Auto Scroll may store user preferences locally within the browser, such as:
